01

Identify the assessments required

We review the building type, location, project scope and comments already received from Building Control or planning. This establishes whether the project needs SAP, SBEM, an EPC, overheating, water, U-value or other supporting work.

02

Coordinate calculations and specification

The energy model is checked against the architectural and services design, with conflicts or missing information identified clearly. Where a result fails, practical options are tested and reported to the design team.

03

Prepare for completion

As-built specifications, photographs, test results and commissioning records are reviewed before final reports are issued. This reduces the risk of missing evidence or unplanned changes holding up certification.

RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Similar buildings.
Practical outcomes.

Selected anonymised examples showing how the assessment supported design, compliance or completion.

01

Large residential conversion

Multiple compliance outputs coordinated for one scheme

A conversion to a substantial HMO required energy modelling alongside overheating, water and supporting planning information.

The design team received a defined schedule of assessments and inputs rather than separate, conflicting requests.
02

Commercial first fit-out

Building Control query resolved around project scope

The assessment distinguished retained shell elements from the new internal fit-out and focused evidence on the installed services and completed use.

The final compliance work reflected the actual construction and avoided duplicated base-build modelling.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Clear answers.
No guesswork.

01Can you confirm what my project needs?+

Yes. Send the address, drawings, project stage and any planning or Building Control comments and we will define the likely scope.

02Do you approve departures from the guidance?+

No. We quantify performance and provide technical evidence, but acceptance of an alternative approach remains with the relevant Building Control body.

03Can you coordinate other testing?+

Yes. Air permeability, ventilation, acoustic, fire and other specialist inputs can be coordinated where they form part of the project scope.
